@thx1138 1/16000 is exposure time, not readout speed, which commonly mean time difference in upper row and bottom row, which is 0 for global shutter
-
I still wait for obvious halph-Medium-format sensor size (44x16.5mm) giving perfect X-pan proportions. I can bare some rolling shutter, as every curtain shutter is rolling too.

8K is really good for landscape videography. Phillip Bloom used his Canon r5 to capture this kind of footages, then to watch in 8K OLED. For filming people FullHD is just fine mostly.

when switching to logarythmic-response sensors we will get even more registered DR, natural native film-looking output with soft highlights rolloff. These sensors do exists are in use in...

to do X-pan sensor in proportions all is needed is to cut in halph common digital MF (44x33) sensor, so its possible to make 2 Xpan-proportion sensor instead of one. no need to make original Xpan...

theBitterFig, you may be ok to crop, I am not ok to do crop neither sensor output, nor viewfinder.

my guess - little distortion but pronounsed spherical and chromatic abberations. The question is bokeh - the only important thing for this kind of lenses (cheap, fast, manual focus)

2 sportyaccordy thanks for saying smth that make sense! a) this one - make sense! b) seriously ahahaha c) Wow, I personaly don't need automatic Focus magnification toggle, but this one also may...

Neither of you did point any reason for electronic contacts to be there. Just slogans like "dealbreaker".

What a beauty! Absolutly happy to see these kind of news!

I never had any problem with non-electronic manual lenses on Canon EF and Sony E bodies. No real reason not to buy this lens (for APS-C)
-
I hope Fuji will do the same with Xpan
-
-
Malling APS-C crop will be oversampled in a7-4 too, no difference, nothing to talk about, as I said.
-
Malling A7-4 in crop has plenty of resolution, nothing to talk about.
-
Malling, fx30 Rolling Shutter is the same as a7-4 in APS-C, so no advantage in this :)
-
panther faster then a6300, slower or the same as fuji x-t3
-
no EVF, 1/1.5x jellowy sensor, no shutter. and for 1800? Sony a7-4 makes much more sense, being both FF and APS-C for video, and real photocamera.
