Canon EF 24-70 mm f/4 is L - Zoom Creep Question
13 hours ago

Hi all,

My 24-105 L, that has served me well for more than a dozen years has finally developed significant zoom creep and I have pretty much decided to get the 24-70 f4 to replace it. I know the 24-70 has a zoom lock, but unfortunately, it seems to only work when the zoom is located at 24mm. This is unfortunate because I really don't care if the zoom moves while I am walking around, but zoom creep is really a bummer when I am setting up a shot pointed downwards - this is what my 24-105 is now doing. If you could use the zoom lock at any focal length, then we wouldn't have to worry about creep at all.

Anyway, since this lens has been out for quite a while now, I was hoping any long-time users could let me know if they have had any issues with zoom creep in their copy. I guess I'm going to get it either way, due to the improved IQ over the 24-105 and the macro capabilities, but it would be nice to know what I might be looking at over the years.

Thanks
